This is especially useful for adding style or Javascript to a page using the Content Editor web part, without showing the webpart that added the code.

For example, add a Content Editor web part to the front page, and then open the Source Editor to add the following code:

Your webpart headers should now appear grey.

For more elaborate style sheets you can opt to include a css file rather than edit the source code directly.

You can use the same trick to add JavaScript to a page.

To bring it back, or remove it from the page completely, go the the Edit Page mode and then click to Add a new web part. Click the Advanced Web Part gallery and options link and look in the Closed Web Parts collection.

Closed web parts still take up resources on the page, so make sure you remove any unused web parts.
